Her story is like many hundreds of thousands of galgos in Spain. Poor. Thin. Emaciated. Exhausted and abused both physically and mentally. What goes through the angry bones of an abusive excuse for a human? To have no shame. To have no pity. 

 

Maya was found a wandering emaciated in the campo where Rosemary searches out abandoned souls. That or they find her. Maya didn't want help from a human. She wanted the earth to swallow her up. Too shamed too scared to live along side anyone who represented a human.
